METHANOL PRICE TRENDS

Historically, methanol pricing is lowest in the middle of summer and highest in the dead of winter. So, we expect methanol pricing to remain at its lowest through August and start to rise in September and October.

Prices will usually peak in December or January. As a general rule, the colder the winter in the eastern U.S., the higher the price of methanol, because it is used primarily as a deicing agent and antifreeze.

Because methanol is produced from natural gas, the current instability of oil markets could certainly affect the normal methanol pricing trends and make accurate forecasting even more difficult.

VP LOGO ISSUE

We were recently contacted by VP and told they did not want us to use their logo on our website. Although we continue to carry VP products for our customers, it appears to us that VP does not want you to know that. Apparently other VP distributors do not want any competition so they price their products as high as they want and the customer then has no choice but to pay those prices. We try to offer all of our fuels at competitive prices.

So to satisfy VP’s apparent attempt to establish a monopoly rather than allow for open market competition, we have removed the logo from our home page as per their request. We will continue to carry VP as long as supply is available. If that becomes an issue we carry a host of other brands that will replace most any of the VP products we carry, often at a lower price. Our business is selling race fuel. We want and value the opportunity to serve you and want to thank all of our customers for their support for the past 20 years.
